Project Description

Euthenics provided preliminary engineering, field survey and final plans for the 1.44 mile widening of U.S. 42 to five lanes in the City of Medina and Medina Township for ODOT District 3. The project consisted of widening and safety improvements to U.S. 42 from Harding Street to approximately 1,000 feet south of Fenn Road including ties to associated local cross streets. Traffic data was analyzed to upgrade and synchronize signals including intersection improvements and adding turn lanes where needed. The construction included pavement widening, walks, multipurpose path, raised median, traffic control, traffic signals, lighting, water main replacements and drainage improvements. Right of way design and acquisition consisted of 196 parcels. The project included replacement of a 10’ x 4’ box culvert and extension of an existing 12’ x 8’ cast-in-place culvert.
